All programs are our own original programs.
Our Vacation Bible School Program is mostly meant for smaller churches that either don't have enough "seasoned" members to run a full program, or for those churches that aren't sure how to run a successful program yet.
Our plan is to come to your church, run a full Vacation Bible School Program, pack up, and leave your church with a blessing, not the headache that they can sometimes leave.
At this time we have to ask for $200 for the program. $100 must be received in advance to help us get the supplies that we need- such as prizes, games, fliers, miscellaneous handouts, etc. The remaining $100 is to be payed before we leave. We would also ask that if at all possible we would receive a love offering to help cover our gasoline, traveling meals, etc. The ugly part out of the way.
Our program includes:
50 fliers with church name, address, phone number printed on (more fliers available upon request)
5 days of curriculum
5 or more games, some days may require different games for older and younger ages
5 or more projects -again extra projects for different ages
memory verses for each class based upon age appropriateness (We will only use King James)
prizes
teacher curriculum
4 send home projects
point tally sheets
special awards
What you do
Provide 5 or more teachers and helpers- Although it is not always easy to get people to volunteer to teach, and we understand, we ask that you try to get your own church members to volunteer to help fill some of the positions whenever possible. It is best that you have a sign up sheet printed up and hanging in the back of the church where people will see it. Only mention that you need help a few times and ask them to sign up at the back. It is best to not pass a sign up sheet because those that mean business will sign up on their own. We do ask that all workers follow our camp dress code, and attend a meeting prior to the VBS to ensure proper behavior and willingness to participate. If you aren't able to come up with that many teachers please let us know. We may have an extra around here that can help too.
Provide a place large enough for chapel, games, groups, snacks, and projects. Many of these activities will be occuring at the same time.
Snack and beverage- we would prefer that you ask the church members to help provide this rather than the church supply it yourselves. This is something church members are usually eager to help with.
2 or 3 weeks prior to the date start handing out fliers. If you have any kids in the church take them with you. They always seem to know who will be willing to come and can usually convince those that wouldn't normally be willing.
If at all possible please provide a place for my family and myself to stay, please do your best to provide meals also whenever possible. We would prefer to stay at or near your location so we can go out during the day to hand out fliers and tracts. It is also best for us to come on Saturday or Sunday before to meet with the workers and stay until Saturday morning following.
Topics available:
Army of the Lord- based off of the armour a Christian must wear
Vacation in the Desert- Moses and the Israelites wanderings
We know there will always be more questions that you have. Please e-mail us at zionhillbiblecamp@yahoo.com for more information.
This is what we require from those working with us in the VBS Program.

Code of Behavior
All staff is expected to follow the schedule and actively participate. (You set the excitement level!!!) Pleasant conversation and a proper attitude will help with morale.
Find out the schedule and have an idea of what is going on. (You will be asked!)
Promptly attend all prayer meetings and staff meetings and make sure those you are responsible for are there as well. All exceptions to attendance MUST go through the program director. This is important for the running of the program!
Respect others. (give the respect you expect)
Report forms- they are there to use, don't hesitate to use them if a situation arises.
Assist in the verse time, game time, group time, or free time. No staff will ever have the need to sit around idol.
All babies (nursery for staff, only if applicable) must be in the nursery at all times. If you need to attend to your child in the nursery please send out a nursery worker to fill you position.
Your opinions are valued, but please use discretion when voicing them, (remember proper times and places) If you have a problem with another person do not address it to them in the class or in front of any of the children attending the program. Do not gossip about others. If there is a problem please see the program director and he will address it with both of you.
Pray for the overall program, the snacks, the bus, the lessons, the children, the workers, the games (safety), etc.
Fill out and turn in all decision slips.
Learn the children's names quickly. Take an active interest immediately. Each child is an individual, treat each one as such. Interact, be a friend.
Answer questions. Many children may not have someone at home that listens. They may also have spiritual concerns. Be sensitive to the child trying to reach out to you. Give them your unhurried undivided attention when they talk. Be a good listener. Don't be a know it all!
Consult with the Director regarding disciplinary measures Before they are given! The child is part of the problem and the solution. All discipline is to be administered in love. Discipline is not a negative, oppressive list of do nots accompanied by threats. Never make a rule that is impossible to obey or enforce. Do not correct them in front of others when possible. Never holler at a child. Be consistent.
Report any injuries right away and fill out a form.
Children should be handled by the same sex whenever possible.
Keep all children in a lit area at all times. All staff should be clearly visible at all times, even if you are married. Kids talk!
Try to sit with your class in singing and group times. This will help with discipline problems.
Remember why we are here!!!! Maintain an attitude of servant-hood!
